Tim & I just spent a week in McCloud, CA. We attended a phase 4-5-6 level round dance, and learned a phase 6 foxtrot, a phase 6 paso doble, and a really neat phase 5 mambo to Hakuna Matata. We also hiked a few miles up Mt Shasta (still lots of snow), spent a short day kayaking on the Klamath River, and swung by Crater Lake on the trip home. That gave our dancers a break.

The Monday night Carousel Club is just finishing up the phase 6 foxtrot That’s You and we will be reviewing a phase 5 rumba Jurame and learning a new phase 5 foxtrot Exactly Like You in the next few weeks.

The Wednesday nights dancers have been working on a Nightclub Two Step from Hairspray called It Takes Two. It’s a phase 4 routine, but has a lot in it.

We are pleased to share that after only 7 class evenings, the Thursday night beginners are starting to learn both waltz and two step routines. It won’t be long before we finish up the waltz basics, but it will take a bit more time for the two step, as there are more figures in the syllabus. We have changed the start time to 6:30 PM.

Due to school closings and some travel plans we will not be dancing every week in July or August, so if you would like to drop in on a Thursday evening, please check to see that we are dancing.
